Students Choose

Students select from the three learning tracks below.

e1: Certifications
One significant way to achieve your engineering career goals is to show employers your worth as an engineer by demonstrating your abilities with skill-specific certificates and professional certification. Such training opportunities have been shown to be valuable to many employers and could land you an interview with some companies. Companies and government agencies also see candidates with certifications as “self-starters" as it shows that you have taken initiative to improve yourself, update skills, and fill gaps in your knowledge.

 e2: Entrepreneurship Training
Creating value through engineering is the purpose of our entrepreneurship option. If you choose the entrepreneurship option as part of the e3 Initiative, you will develop knowledge and skills in a career area that will help you develop innovative products and companies wherever your career takes you.

e3: Individual or Group Design Projects
Design Projects inspire engineering students to apply their technical knowledge and creativity in bold, new ways. Whether students initiate a design project as an individual or as a team, they will put theory to practice. The Aggie Innovation Space (AIS) at NMSU invites students to prepare for their future careers by executing work based on client goals while enhancing their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. The AIS provides students access to experienced mentors, new technologies and the latest engineering design software and tools.
