Advising

- Contacting Your Advisor Advising each semester is required in the College of Engineering. If you have declared an Engineering major, see your department to contact your advisor. Students listed as Undeclared Engineering majors are advised in the College of Engineering Associate Dean’s Dean’s Office (Goddard Hall 106).

- MyNMSU MyNMSU provides you access to many of your student needs. Use MyNMSU to add and drop courses, view or print your schedule.

- STAR Degree Audit Your STAR audit helps you to see your progress toward your degree requirements. Check your audit frequently, and let your advisor know if you notice errors or omissions. When you complete your degree, this audit must be correct and must reflect that you have met all of your degree requirements.

- Declare your major or minor Use this online form to declare an engineering major or minor.

- Request Substitutions or Waivers If you believe you have already taken a course with content similar to one required for your degree, talk to your advisor. He or she can review the course and, if appropriate, submit a substitution. Substitutions will then be reflected on your STAR Degree Audit.

Any substitutions must be reflected on your audit! A verbal approval of a substitution is not enough!
Registration

Check your holds in MyNMSU before attempting to register or bringing in Add/Drop slips!
- Petition for Retroactive Registration Changes Use this form to add, drop or change classes after the deadline.
- Time Block Chart This form will help you to create a schedule free of time conflicts.
Graduation
- Graduation Checklist Planning to graduate? Make sure you've done everything on the graduation checklist (it’s the first option in the top navigation bar).
- Degree Application If you’re planning to graduate, be sure to complete your degree application online through MyNMSU. You’ll find more information on that process here.
Transferring Courses from Other Institutions
- Request an Evaluation or Re-Evaluation of Transfer Credit New transfer students to NMSU should complete the Transfer Course Evaluation Request Form.
