Floyd Pacheco was born on August 17, 1959, to Martin and Lucy Pacheco. He passed away on April 25, 2025 of complications from quadriplegia. Floyd was paralyzed in a car accident 43 years ago. He lived a life of great suffering with patience, perseverance, and kindness toward others. Floyd was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lucy Pacheco, who took care of him since the accident that incapacitated him.
Floyd was greatly loved not only by his immediate family but also by numerous cousins who were more like siblings. He had many life-long friends whose friendships he valued.
He attended and graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Technical Engineering. Although he did not have the use of his hands, he always managed to wrangle someone to serve as his hands as he invented various electronic devices to make his living conditions easier for himself as well as for his caregivers.
Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 9:00am, funeral mass will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant. Burial will follow the funeral mass and will be at the family plot in Trujillo, NM which is located at the bottom of Corazon Hill at the "Virgin Mary Shrine". Serving as pallbearers are his cousins, Sylvia (nee Pacheco) Gonzales, Niva (nee Pacheco) Romero, Victor, Carl, Elmo, Charlie, Liberato "Lee" Pacheco, and godson, Rojo Laumbach.
