In memoriam: Robert John Rogers

Robert John Rogers 87 of Sudbury, MA died at his home on August 23, 2023. Born February 2, 1936 to John J. Rogers and Bertha (Watkins) Rogers. Robert graduated from Hudson High School in 1953. He attended Syracuse University and Albany Business College. Graduated with a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University and an MBA from Northeastern University.Robert was a career officer in the United States Air Force serving from 1959 to 1979, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. Serving as a Navigator flying RB-47 high altitude reconnaissance planes and AC-130 Spectre gunships. Twice he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with full Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Force commendation medal as well as many other awards.After the Air Force he was employed by Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) and the IRS. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother John. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Carol (Brislin) Rogers, his cherished daughter, Rebecca (Rogers) Yanagi and son, Michael J. Rogers, two Grandsons Tyler and Max, Sister Dorothy, nieces Sharon and Beth and their families. A funeral mass was held August 29. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Sudbury, MA.
