PSL to host small unmanned aircraft system workshop

Small unmanned aircraft systems purchased with NMSU funds and/or perform flights on NMSU property must comply with NMSU rules and policies. This is applicable to the following but not limited to:

  • While performing research
  • While teaching a class
  • Collection of media (video, photographs, etc.)
  • Performing inspections of infrastructure
  • Any other additional applications

Physical Science Laboratory will conduct the workshop covering current FAA regulations, NMSU policies and procedures, and good safety practices. After the classroom portion, each individual pilot will be required to perform a one-on-one flight demonstration. The workshop will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at NMSU's Anderson Hall and the Las Cruces Model Airplane Park. Cost is $130.Please note the next workshop is TBD.
