New Mexico State University has been recognized as one of Forbes’ America’s Top Colleges in 2022.
This year, NMSU was ranked 458th. On additional Forbes lists, NMSU ranked 102nd in the west, 212th in public colleges and 232nd in research universities.
Last year, Forbes reevaluated how it determines rankings. The methodology is based on the return on investment and student outcomes.
Schools placed highly on Forbes’ list if students returned after their first year, graduated on time, secured high salaries with low debt, and went on to have successful careers. Forbes incorporated outcomes for low-income students in two measures, looking closely at six-year graduation rates and return-on-investment measures for Pell Grant recipients, and Forbes rewarded colleges that enrolled a greater percentage of low-income students.
In November 2021, Forbes recognized NMSU as one of America’s Best Employers for Veterans 2021. NMSU ranked No. 93 on the list of the top 200 businesses and organizations in the country.
Earlier this week, NMSU was named a top-tier university on the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges for 2023 National Universities rankings.
