New Mexico State University has been named a top military friendly school by Viqtory Media, publishers of G.I. Jobs. For the first time, NMSU has received a gold designation on the Military Friendly Schools list, making it one of the top institutions for military students. Gold designated institutions are ranked in the top 10 percent in the nation.

“This Military Friendly School gold recognition, given by Viqtory Media, is another affirmation of our commitment for our military, veteran and dependent students,” said Erika Zaragoza, military programs coordinator. “New Mexico State University faculty and staff strive to provide the best possible service for our military-affiliated students as they pursue and achieve their educational goals.”

Schools are evaluated using data from public sources as well as responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools took part in the survey, NMSU being one of the 282 schools earning the gold designation for its leading practices, outcomes and effective programs. The 2022-2023 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May edition of the G.I. Jobs magazine. For a complete list of military friendly schools, visit https://www.militaryfriendly.com.

NMSU and the Military and Veterans Program offer support to military members, veterans and dependents. MVP is a resource for guidance and support utilizing federal education benefits such as tuition assistance, scholarships, student housing and more.

“At MVP, we work diligently to provide a smooth and successful transition to NMSU; as we proudly serve those who have served – and continue to serve – our great country,” Zaragoza said.
