Take a trip back in time to 1920 with KRWG’s television documentary “Ralph Willis Goddard: New Mexico’s First Broadcaster.” The documentary follows the remarkable life and tragic death of the New Mexico State University professor for whom KRWG is named.

Goddard broadcasted the first radio signals in New Mexico from his hand-built radio station in a small shack on the NMSU campus. The radio station would later be known as K-O-B, one of the most powerful in the country.

Goddard’s legacy lives on at NMSU. Goddard Hall was dedicated to him in 1934. KRWG Public Media honors his legacy in the call letters of KRWG-FM radio and KRWG-TV. In case you miss the first broadcast of the documentary, it will re-air at 5 p.m. Saturday Dec. 12 and 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 on TV channel 22.
