Message from the Dean

As I travel with our development team to introduce myself to our alumni and industry representatives, I find a very consistent response regarding NMSU engineering: the education our students receive is second to none and our faculty do cutting-edge research. Our alumni network is very extensive, which reflects the rich history of our college. My recent meetings in Phoenix, Atlanta, Nashville and Washington D.C. have introduced me to some notably successful CEOs, researchers and entrepreneurs representing almost every discipline in the college. I am humbled by the successes of our alumni. The historical perspectives they share are helpful in many ways to define our path forward. The questions I am asked very often are: How can we be more effective telling our stories? How do we spread the word on the strengths of our college? What role can we play in the Learning Communities of the college? It is invigorating to work with such engaged alumni as we work toward enhancing the national visibility of NMSU engineering. I am proud of our alumni and I believe the loyalty and commitment they bring to the college makes us truly unique.

Lakshmi N. Reddi, College of Engineering Dean
