Robert Garza

Robert Garza, BSCE, '89

Robert Garza, professional engineer, has made his career in municipal engineering and management for almost 30 years. He has served the public in multiple areas including chief engineer and public works director. Garza is currently the Las Cruces City Manager where he continues to use his engineering and problem solving skills to build and manage a growing diverse community.

He has a degree in civil engineering from New Mexico State University and is also an alumnus of the JFK School of Government at Harvard University. Before becoming a city manager, Robert Garza worked in numerous technical and engineering positions with responsibilities including planning, design, construction, as well as operation and maintenance of public infrastructure.
