Larry Stolarczyk

Larry Stolarczyk, president, chairman of the board, and chief technology officer of Stolar, Inc., was honored during New Mexico State University 's Eye Opener Breakfast at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, in the Corbett Center Ballrooms on the NMSU campus.

Stolarczyk was honored for his considerable contributions to electronic design and improvements of safety and productivity of underground mining with Stolar, Inc. He cofounded the Raton-based company in 1983.

In 1986, Stolarczyk received the U.S. Department of Energy Award for Energy Innovation. He was named an outstanding alumnus at the 100-year anniversary of the NMSU College of Engineering. Stolarczyk has twice been nominated for the National Technology Medal – once by the U.S. Bureau of Mines for his contributions to the development of underground radio technology and once by NMSU for developing the radio imaging method for tomography scanning of subsurface geologic structure.

Stolarczyk's academic accomplishments include a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado, a master of science degree in electrical engineering from NMSU, a doctor of science degree in electrical engineering and related areas of physics and mathematics from NMSU, and a master of industrial administration in business from the Robert O. Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of New Mexico.
