NMSU celebrates professor for garnering U.S. patent on reduced-gravity technology

At a Research Rally today, New Mexico State University celebrated a mechanical and aerospace engineering professor for receiving a U.S. patent on reduced-gravity technology that can not only train astronauts to work in space, but can also help persons with disabilities who have walking impairments.

Civil engineer receives patents for two renewable energy technologies

Harnessing the power from renewable sources, New Mexico State University Civil Engineering Professor Nirmala Khandan and his colleagues have received patents for two technologies in recent months. One, using solar power, could help to bring inexpensive freshwater to people in the world who most need it. The other, using biowaste, could help further the development of hydrogen fuel cell technology.
