Electrical engineering celebrates two facility dedications

The College of Engineering at New Mexico State University celebrated the naming of two facilities during homecoming celebrations on Friday, Oct. 26. Alumna Dion Messer, electrical engineering class of 1984, and her husband, Charles Richter, made the gift.

President Obama appoints NMSU engineering alumna to the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics

President Barack Obama recently announced his appointment of 15 individuals to the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. Among them is Sylvia Acevedo, alumna of the NMSU College of Engineering.

Aggie engineers named to New Mexico Transportation Commission

Gov. Susana Martinez recently appointed five new members to serve on the New Mexico Transportation Commission. Among them was Kenneth White, former interim dean of the College of Engineering and civil engineering department head emeritus.

Gomez reappointed to space committee

Lou Gomez, program manager at Spaceport America in New Mexico, has been reappointed to serve on the Commercial Space transportation Advisory Committee by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood.

College of Engineering recognizes Distinguished Alumna Sylvia Acevedo

The College of Engineering recognized Sylvia Acevedo as Distinguished Alumna during Homecoming 2010 in late October. Acevedo, an industrial engineering alum, was nominated by the college and selected by the NMSU Alumni Association for this honor.
