PG&E promotes NMSU chemical engineering alum to VP position

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced that it has promoted  Melvin J. Christopher to vice president, Gas Transmission and Distribution Operations, effective May 1, 2017.

Christopher will oversee all operations and maintenance on the company’s natural gas transmission and distribution network, and will report to Senior Vice President, Gas Operations, Jesus Soto.

Christopher, who is currently senior director, Gas Transmission and Distribution Operations, joined PG&E in 2011. Previously, he held senior leadership roles in engineering and operations and other areas at Vista Energy Solutions, PNM Resources and Public Service Company of New Mexico. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from New Mexico State University.
