College of Engineering research scientist chosen to serve on editorial board

Anuj Kumar has been chosen to serve on the editorial board of the journal Research in Environmental and Life Sciences.

Kumar was chosen as a result of his scientific publications, expertise and international recognition in his field. Kumar is an organic chemistry/environmental chemistry manager and research scientist for the Carlsbad Environmental Monitoring and Research Center, part of New Mexico State University’s College of Engineering. CEMRC performs environmental monitoring for the U.S. Department of Energy Waste Isolation Pilot Plant, as a geological repository that disposes of transuranic nuclear waste, near Carlsbad.

The quarterly multidisciplinary journal is associated with the Society for Environmental Protection. The SEP was established in 1994 “to promote a sustainable and accountable society through scientific and technological interventions and by creative involvement of youth in social reconstruction.”

The journal publishes articles that cover environment and life sciences including environmental biology, pollution and toxicology, waste management, safety assessment among other things.
