In Memoriam: Jim Cahalan

Jim Cahalan was born in Orange, NJ on July 24, 1945 and grew up in Agua Fria, Santa Fe, NM. He attended college at NMSU and earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He then got a job in Maryland working for Westinghouse Corp. However, he was a man of his own and chose not to continue on that path.

He instead moved to San Francisco for a year, but soon returned to his NM roots. He build a home in lower Canoncito and established his own business as an electrician.

Jim’s wit, intelligence and kindness touched everyone he knew. He was greatly loved and will be missed. the life lessons he taught us will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his sister, Alice Cahalan; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Alfred Vigil, and his nieces and one nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and William and his brother, Andy.
