Research Rally to highlight interdisciplinary smartgrid project

A Research and Scholarly Activity Rally on Friday, April 11, at 8:30 a.m. in room 104 at O’Donnell Hall.

The rally will honor Regents’ Professor Enrico Pontelli of the Computer Science Department for his leadership of the team awarded the NSF CREST project, iCREDITS: Interdisciplinary Center for Research Excellence in Design of Intelligent Technologies for Smartgrids. NSF has awarded approximately $5,000,000 to support the project over five years. The project team includes Satish Ranade and Sukumar Brahma of the Klipsch School of Electrical and Computer Engineering; Satajayant Misra, William Yeoh, Son Tran and Huiping Cao of the Computer Science Department; and Susan Brown of the Institute for Excellence in Math and Science Education.

After introductory remarks, Pontelli will present an overview of the project as well as some of its expected outputs and outcomes and introduce the project team. At 9 a.m., Pontelli will be available to answer questions. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.
