NMSU continues to rank as national top tier university

For the ninth time in the last 10 years, New Mexico State University has been recognized as a top tier university on the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges for 2022 National Universities rankings.
 
NMSU improved in several ranking categories this year and is tied for 227 with Regis University in Colorado, University of Colorado Denver, University of Nevada, Reno, and University of North Carolina at Charlotte among others.
 
Additionally, NMSU improved in the top performers on social mobility ranking (tied for 100) and top public schools ranking (tied for 112). In a new category this year, NMSU is tied for 120 in undergraduate nursing programs. Both the undergraduate engineering programs (tied for 131) and undergraduate computer science programs (tied for 154) improved their rankings.
 
The methodology for the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings is based on outcomes (40 percent), faculty resources (20 percent), expert opinion (20 percent), financial resources (10 percent), student excellence (seven percent) and alumni giving (three percent).
