NMSU’s Physical Science Lab joins SelectUSA UAS Virtual Inbound Investment Mission

New Mexico State University’s Physical Science Laboratory and a team of New Mexico leaders in unmanned aircraft systems and economic development will participation in SelectUSA’s UAS Virtual Inbound Investment Mission, Jan. 25-28. Selected participants in this event include 122 international delegates, representing 70 companies from 19 countries.

The panel featuring New Mexico will take place today and include sessions such as a welcome and introduction from Marcella Shelby, PSL strategic initiatives officer; NMSU and PSL from Retired Army Brig. Gen. Eric Sanchez, PSL director; New Mexico Flight Test Site Capabilities from Henry Cathey, PSL Aerospace Division director, New Mexico UAS Flight Test Site director; Spaceport America; The Land of Enchantment from Eric Montgomery, vice president of Business Development for the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance, and Melinda Allen, New Mexico Partnership; a success story, Utopia Compression and DAA System Flight Testing; Working with the New Mexico UAS Flight Test Site with Cathey; and a question and answer session.

SelectUSA’s UAS Virtual Inbound Investment Mission provides an opportunity for UAS companies from Europe, Israel and Turkey to learn about the capabilities and opportunities of U.S. Federal Aviation Administration Test Sites in Alaska, central New York, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas and Virginia. In addition to a program with sessions on industry trends, technology standards and regulations, each participating U.S. state will highlight the unique opportunities at their UAS test site and in their region.

SelectUSA is a part of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. The SelectUSA program facilitates job-creating business investment into the U.S. and raises awareness of the critical role that foreign direct investment plays in the U.S. economy. SelectUSA helps international companies of all sizes find the information they need to make decisions, connect to the right people at the local level, and navigate the federal regulatory system. SelectUSA also assists U.S. economic development organizations to compete globally for investment by providing information, a platform for international marketing and high-level advocacy.
