Google to visit NMSU Thursday, Friday

Google will host several informational sessions at New Mexico State University Oct. 25-26. Representatives will discuss opportunities for students and conduct résumé and interview workshops. Thursday, Oct. 25

What: Introduction and panel discussion with Googlers
When: 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Where: Isabel Crouch Reader’s Theatre
Who: All computer science and engineering students, but anyone with an interest in what it’s like to work at Google are welcome
Why: Learn more about Google’s culture, job and internship opportunities, and more

What: Internship application and résumé workshop
When: 2:45-4:45 p.m.
Where: Isabel Crouch Reader’s Theatre
Who: All computer science and engineering students interested in technical internships and/or wanting to spice up their résumé
Why: Learn tips and tricks for submitting a successful internship application and writing an effective résumé

What: Evening social and scavenger hunt
When: 5-7 p.m.
Where: Science Hall, Room 124
Who: Any NMSU students who like socializing, burritos and scavenger hunts

Who: All computer science and engineering students
Why: Learn about impostor syndrome and how to tackle it and strategies to effectively own and market your own personal brand

What: Google Cloud technologies
When: 11 a.m.-noon
Where: Isabel Crouch Reader’s Theatre
Who: All computer science and engineering students interested in Cloud technologies
Why: Learn about Google Cloud technologies like machine learning and gain insight into Google data centers

What: Video call with NMSU students at Google
When: 1-2 p.m.
Where: Isabel Crouch Reader’s Theatre
Who: All computer science and engineering students
Why: Hear about the first-hand experiences of NMSU students who are currently participating in the Google Tech Exchange program. Learn about what they wish they would have learned in school before going to Google.

What: Design thinking workshop
When: 2-2:45 p.m.

Who: All computer science and engineering students
