Are you an Engineering major looking for more information on advising, registration, or graduation? You’ve come to the right place! Below, you’ll find a host of information to help you as your progress toward completion of your engineering degree.
- Contacting Your Advisor
Advising each semester is required in the College of Engineering. If you have declared an Engineering major, see your department to contact your advisor. Students listed as Undeclared Engineering majors are advised in the College of Engineering Associate Dean’s Dean’s Office (Goddard Hall 106).
MyNMSU provides you access to many of your student needs. Use MyNMSU to add and drop courses, view or print your schedule.
- STAR Degree Audit
Your STAR audit helps you to see your progress toward your degree requirements. Check your audit frequently, and let your advisor know if you notice errors or omissions. When you complete your degree, this audit must be correct and must reflect that you have met all of your degree requirements.
Check out the video tutorial for reading a STAR audit on YouTube!
- Declare your major or minor
Use this online form to declare an engineering major or minor.
- Request Substitutions or Waivers
If you believe you have already taken a course with content similar to one required for your degree, talk to your advisor. He or she can review the course and, if appropriate, submit a substitution. Substitutions will then be reflected on your STAR Degree Audit.
Any substitutions must be reflected on your audit! A verbal approval of a substitution is not enough!
