With more than 100 employers registered, New Mexico State University students and alumni along with community members can attend the 15th annual Career Connections Fair Feb. 4-5. NMSU Career Services will host the two-day event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Corbett Center Student Union throughout the third floor.
From the very start of his engineering education at New Mexico State University, Joshua Gomez made the best of every opportunity that came his way. His hard work, passion for chemical engineering and research earned him a fellowship from the National GEM Consortium, tuition for his master’s degree, a stipend for other expenses, and two summers of experience conducting research at a national laboratory.
Galactic Unite – Virgin Galactic’s outreach initiative – has partnered with Ultimate Software to offer a new STEM scholarship for students at New Mexico State University. The scholarship has been created through a shared passion to drive positive change for young people through harnessing the power of space and will launch in the fall of 2019. It will see five students awarded a one-year-long scholarship that includes 12 months mentoring with a Virgin Galactic team member. It will be granted to undergraduate students studying a degree in engineering at NMSU College of Engineering.
Over the past two years, the New Mexico State University College of Engineering has been developing a program to increase the graduation rates of underrepresented minorities, particularly minority women, and place them into science and engineering careers.
