NMSU hosts visit from Sandia National Laboratories officials, opens new office space at PSL

After an official agreement was signed in April, the collaboration between New Mexico State University and Sandia National Laboratories has proceeded with the opening of a facility at NMSU’s Physical Science Laboratory in Anderson Hall.

Electrical engineer’s research focused on making the power grid more reliable

Olga Lavrova, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at New Mexico State University, is working to find ways to upgrade our aging power grid and deliver electricity more reliably. Her goal is to develop devices that work with renewable sources of energy and weather minor disruptions as well as more catastrophic events, such as hurricanes.

Faculty, staff members honored during NMSU fall convocation ceremony

New Mexico State University honored its faculty and staff at the 2019 fall convocation ceremony Aug. 20 at NMSU’s Atkinson Recital Hall. Every fall and spring convocation is held to celebrate the start of a new semester.

NMSU program intends to place women, minorities in science and engineering careers

Over the past two years, the New Mexico State University College of Engineering has been developing a program to increase the graduation rates of underrepresented minorities, particularly minority women, and place them into science and engineering careers.

Aggie engineer brings mobile device expertise to Resonant’s Board of Directors

Resonant Inc. (RESN), a leader in transforming the way radio frequency, or RF, front-ends are being designed and delivered for mobile handset and wireless devices, announced its board of directors has appointed Rubén Caballero to serve as a board member, increasing its total number of directors to eight, effective August 5, 2019. Caballero will also be providing technical advisory services to Resonant.

NMSU among top four percent of Center for World University Rankings

According to the 2019-2020 Center for World University Rankings, New Mexico State University has been ranked in the top four percent of institutions of higher education worldwide. With 20,000 degree-granting institutions of higher education worldwide evaluated, this year NMSU ranked 783rd overall and earned a national rank of 187th.
