Career Fair

NMSU's career fairs are key times and places for co-op, summer internship, and professional employment offers. The events are open to NMSU students, alumni, and community members. There is no cost to attend. The two largest career fairs are held in September and February each year.

Is a career fair just for students approaching graduation? No. All students should attend. Whether you are a first year, second year, third year, fourth year student or in your final semester, you should attend the career fairs. Some employers like to get to know students early on in their education. All students should pursue co-op and internship opportunities as soon as possible. Also, by meeting with the employers each semester or year, you get to know them and they get to know you.

In conjunction with the career fairs, employers typically hold information sessions and special presentations. Some of those activities may take place via the Handshake platform. Every NMSU student has a Handshake account. See instructions below about how to access your account. Make sure your profile is up-to-date with your resume information and be sure it is visible to employers. Employers will also search for potential candidates through Handshake and reach out to students directly so make your profile its best!

Learn more about Handshake HERE.
