After considerable success with Phase I, Nukove Scientific Consulting has awarded $59,584 for additional work on this project. In September 2003, Nukove Scientific Consulting, in collaboration with New Mexico State University began research that has demonstrated the feasibility of obtaining real-time, frame-by-frame estimates of laser system pointing errors and the feasibility of providing output for adaptive beam control. In Phase II, research will take the laboratory demonstration to a professional stand-alone estimation tool that may be used in field experiments at telescope facilities around the world.
