BEST program receives funding
The BEST program involves a competition among teams from middle schools and high schools. The teams are required to design and build an electronically controlled machine (robot) that will accomplish a specific task, within time constraints, from a pre-supplied kit of parts. The tasks and part kits are identical for each team. The resulting projects will be judged at a competition to be held annually at New Mexico State University. This year the event will be on Homecoming weekend, Nov. 1. The winners of this competition will advance to a regional competition held in Lubbock, Tex. BEST received a grant from the New Mexico Space Consortium, through NASA EPSCoR, to sponsor this competition by supplying funds to help offset travel for the teams
