Bio-Gas Production from Waste

The College of Engineering Institute for Energy and the Environment (IEE) is one of the first five grantees for the Energy Innovation Fund in solar energy and biofuel production, part of Governor Bill Richardson continuing New Mexico's leadership as "The Clean Energy State." The Bio-Gas Production from Waste award for NMSU is $120,000 to support the optimization of an existing anaerobic technology research facility located at Sierra Vista Growers in La Mesa, NM that converts cow manure into methane used to generate electricity.
