The Engineering New Mexico Resource Network at New Mexico State University and the Civil Engineering Department will present a workshop on Wells, Pumps, Etc., on Saturday, November 1to help improve water management during the ongoing drought in southern New Mexico. The seminar will provide technical information on water management and on design and operation of wells and pumping systems. The seminar is for farmers, water managers, and people who are involved in developing and operating water systems.
Topics to be covered in the seminar include: status and future projection of groundwater, water conservation techniques, design of wells and pumps, design and management of pump motors and engines, tackling water quality and salinity issues, and increasing water use efficiency through soil modification. The seminar offers five professional development hours for professional engineers. The course will offer eight hours of PE credit.
The seminar is set for Saturday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the NMSU campus in Hernandez Hall, Room 103. The cost of the seminar is $100, $30 for students. For more information, contact Zohrab Samani, email@example.com, 575-646-2904.
