McKinney retires from PPL Corp.
ALLENTOWN, Pa., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Britt T. McKinney, senior vice president and chief nuclear officer for PPL Generation, announced Wednesday (10/22) that he is retiring after more than thirty years in the nuclear power industry, more than four of them as an executive at PPL's Susquehanna plant.

Spence will serve as the company's chief nuclear officer while a search is conducted for McKinney's replacement.
McKinney has served as PPL's chief nuclear officer since May 2005. He came to PPL in May 2004 as vice president of Nuclear Site Operations at Susquehanna. Before coming to PPL, McKinney served as site vice president at the Wolf Creek nuclear plant, as part of a 23-year career at the Burlington, Kan., facility.
He started his career at the Fort St. Vrain nuclear plant in Colorado. McKinney earned a master's degree in power engineering from New Mexico State University and bachelor's degrees in engineering science, business administration and mathematics from Regis College in Denver.
The Susquehanna plant, located in Luzerne County about seven miles north of Berwick, is owned jointly by PPL Susquehanna, LLC and Allegheny Electric Cooperative Inc. and is operated by PPL Susquehanna.
