In Memoriam: Paul David Harris
Paul David "PD" Harris,55, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away on July 19, 2010/ David was born to Charles Harris and LaFaun Hillman on June 6, 1955. He was a Vietnam Veteran. paul completed his bachelor of science degree in engineering at New Mexico State University. His favorite hobby was to work through every problem in large volumes of advanced mathematics and calculus, correcting the authors' errors. He was gratified whenever an author thanked him for this service. Paul bore some similarity to John Forbes Nash, Jr., the subject of " A Beautiful Mind." He also loved the game of chess and was considered a champion player. His favorite holiday was the fourth of July with the lighting of fireworks, an event which brought back warm memories of dad (who had as much fun as the kids). He was a gentle soul with a wry sense of humor, similar to Steven Wright, "The comedian who lives life in the slow lane."
Paul is survived by brother Fred Harris, sisters, Lynn Harris, Barbara Harris, and Patrae Grossman, and his father Charles Harris. His mother, LaFaun Hillman, preceded him in death.
