Associate Dean Patricia A. Sullivan has assumed the critically important effort of recruiting for the College of Engineering. She will begin her expanded role as Associate Dean of Outreach and Recruiting beginning with the fall semester.

“Increasing enrollment is crucial to the future of the college and is a primary focus during this economically difficult time for NMSU and the state,” said College of Engineering Dean Lakshmi Reddi.

In 2012, Sullivan created and launched the Engineering New Mexico Resource Network, leveraging the college’s resources to provide engineering-based outreach programs. ENMRN provides engineering business assistance, professional development and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) educational outreach programs. Last year, NMSU’s engineering STEM programs reached nearly 10,000 pre-college students through the state.

“Through the Engineering New Mexico Resource Network, Dr. Sullivan has established an extensive network across the state’s educational communities. She is highly respected and is well-suited to assume this essential role for the college,” said Reddi

Sullivan’s expanded role will utilize the resources of the Engineering New Mexico Resource Network to connect the K-12 community with the college’s various degree programs, coordinate and organize campus visits for prospective students, engage the K-12 community in STEM outreach programs and enhance workforce opportunities.

Sullivan, an NMSU employee for more than 33 years, was recently awarded NMSU’s Above and Beyond award for outstanding service to NMSU.
