The unique beauty of birds and landscapes make up “The Photo Art of Nature,” opening Friday, May 5, during the Downtown Ramble, 5-7 pm, in the Cottonwood Gallery, Southwest Environmental Center, 275 N. Main St., Las Cruces
Khandan, a native of Sri Lanka, has been a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department at NMSU since 1990. His professional expertise is in the area of Environmental Engineering. Over the years, he has also developed artistic skills in the area of photography. As a self-taught photographer, he is passionate about bird/wildlife/nature/travel photography. He has been shooting with Nikon equipment, initially with film and slides and currently with digital full-frame bodies. As a long-time member of the Dona Ana Photography Club, he has made several presentations on HDR techniques, travelogues, and bird photography at their annual symposia and general meetings. He is also an active member of the Mesilla Valley Audubon Club.
