NASA senior scientist to present talk Thursday
Amy Simon, a senior scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and deputy instrument scientist on OSIRIS-REx’s Visible and Infrared Spectrometer (OVIRS), will give a talk from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Pete V. Domenici Hall lecture room. Simon received her Ph.D from NMSU in 1998 and completed a postdoctoral position at Cornell University before becoming a civil servant at NASA. She has been involved in many NASA missions including Galileo and Cassini and is a frequent observer with the Hubble Space Telescope. The College of Arts and Sciences is sponsoring the public talk.
