The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) has released a revised “Common Rule,” which governs federally funded research involving human subjects that is effective January 21, 2019.  Some of the 20 agencies that will use this “Revised Common Rule” include Department of Energy, NASA, NSF, Homeland Security and Transportation. The NMSU Institutional Review Board (IRB) has developed policies to comply with the Revised Common Rule.  The MAESTRO system will be updated accordingly.   Faculty and staff who do research of any type that involves human subjects, including educational research, should be aware of these changes and make every attempt to attend the information session:

Speaker: Dr. Ed Pines (College of Engineering IRB representative)

Date: 3.30pm-4.30pm, 23 January 2019

Where: Goddard Hall Room 200 (Jerry Shaw Conference Room)
